Cambry's first movie!

Today was such a fun day! I have been waiting for the right time to take Cambry to her first big movie and today was the day. At Harkins Theatres they offer a summer program that allows you to go to a kid-friendly movie during the weekdays for two dollars! They play movies that have been out for a while, but it doesn't matter to kids. In fact, Cambry's attention to movies that she has already seen is much better than to a movie when it's her first time viewing it. She loves to know the characters and certain lines that they say that make her laugh, and then she enjoys the movie much more. This week at Harkins they were playing Megamind! One of her favorites! She wanted to wear her black boots (a true fashion statement in the over 100 degree weather here) to match Megamind. We of course had to get popcorn because that's all she talked about when she talked about going to a big movie. We got into the theater and her eyes were huge looking at the giant screen. We were a few minutes late due to long popcorn lines, so the movie was already playing when we got there. She started laughing so hard at anything that happened on screen, and when Megamind would say one of her favorite lines she would look at me like "He said it!" and laugh. I had such a wonderful day. It's so fun to watch someone experience something for the first time. It made me want to cry sitting there realizing how much I love Cambry and love taking her through this life and all of the experiences that it holds. She looked so tiny in the big blue movie chair. It kept folding up on her because she barely weighed enough to hold it down. She was so perfect and sweet just sitting there eating her popcorn and watching one of her favorite movies. It's hard to think that she will never be this little again and it's going so fast, but I am excited that I get to do it again with Colbie. She doesn't really watch movies yet so she got to have some great one-on-one time with my mom. Colbie loves her grandma so she felt like her day was very special too.
